UW Graduation Ceremony

Yesterday, I officially graduated from the University of Washington Business School. I attended the commencement ceremony in the afternoon. This event marked the first time that I am attending my graduation ceremony, even though I already had received a Bachelors and a Masters degree before this one. The ceremony was long and boring, the commencement speaker – William D. Ruckelshaus – didn’t rock too many boats (except for a couple of boos and claps when criticizing Bush and Iraq war), but the weather was nice. So, my overall impression is that you should go to a commencement once in your life just to say you have done it, but don’t have high hopes (for me the major driver was to get a few good photo shots that would satisfy my mother! I hope the pictures turn out nice).

And it is always to refreshing when you can wear a cap and gown in public and be applauded for it. I really wish my parents were here to share this moment (which I think is more for them than the students) with me.

And of course after the ceremony I went out with a few friends and celebrated this milestone. We gathered at Ibiza dinner club around 8:00pm and partied up until a couple of hours past midnight. Hooray!
