Broken Feet, No…

A few days ago I was reading a friend’s chronicles of training for a marathon on his blog when I found out he has been suffering from feet pain after his practice runs. He mentioned that he is thinking about seeing a sports medicine specialist about it. This made me think because I have had a similar problem for a while now and the recommendations of my doc hasn’t helped so far.
Naturally, I emailed my friend and got the contact information for a rock star DPM in the area since he had already done some research. This morning I paid a visit to the recommended doc (Dr. T. Reeves) at Virginia Mason. I was totally surprised when I found out that I have been running on fractured feet for the past couple of months! I will have to keep my feet in a cast for the next 3 months
.
I am really bummed that I won’t be able to run or do similar activities. It’s especially sad since my soccer team just made it to the playoffs for this season. Now I have to break to them that their super scorer
is going to miss the playoffs and next season too!
On the bright side, I found out about this issue sooner rather than later. Thanks to my friend Ario (who says reading blogs can’t improve your health!) I stopped procrastinating and did the right thing. Now I just have to be patient with the cast for the next 3 months.
Moral of this story:
if some part of your body is in pain, do something about it. Because it will only get worst!
